Since the heyday of Italian opera in the 19th century, there has been a concert format that promises splendor, beauty of sound and enthusiastic cheers like no other: the opera gala. One could almost suspect that Rossini, Puccini, Verdi and all other masters of the profession actually wrote their most beautiful arias and duets just for this purpose. The Mascarade Opera in Florence, partner of the Göttingen Symphony Orchestra for this project, aims its “Mascarade Emerging Artist Program” at young international singers who are at the beginning of their brilliant careers. Under the direction of US conductor Marc Tardue, they present their exceptional talents here. A concert to indulge in and discover singers.
