Sarabande
The First: Ludwig van Beethoven was already 30 years old when he presented his first symphony. Did he hesitate due to apprehension in the presence of Mozart and Haydn, the great composers of his time? Well, he received "Mozart's spirit from Haydn's hands," as this successful start and the following eight works in the genre demonstrated. In the year 1800, the First Symphony was premiered and indeed marked the beginning of a new musical era. Jon Lord, founding member of the rock group "Deep Purple," also aimed to create something grand and unique in the mid-1970s. His rock-classical opus "Sarabande" powerfully dances between genres. Fantasia, Sarabande, Aria, Gigue, Bourrée, Pavane, Caprice—Baroque music is not far away, but here it becomes an incredibly skillful and enjoyable experience infused with the groove of the seventies.
