The Great Giana Sisters (Suite)
Do you remember the 1980s? The fact that the initially somewhat clumsy-looking computer games from that era have now become a highly respected (and commercially immensely successful) art form is due in no small part to the music. Similar to the grand fantasy epics of Hollywood, lush symphonic sounds accompany the action: mythical creatures, heroes wielding primitive weapons, rocking ships, and medieval cities growing magically before our eyes would be only half as impressive without cleverly composed music playing alongside. While the early compositions were monotonously archaic and modal, the range has significantly expanded. You can experience this impressively with "Final Fantasy," "Journey," the 1980s classic "The Great Giana Sisters," and others.
